Module 2: My Geographic Map of Pet Friendly Shelters in Florida

I used the Florida Disaster dataset on Pet-Friendly Shelters, and here is access to the dataset.

1. Challenges I faced were figuring out if I wanted to cover cities or counties. I decided on counties, so it will be easier for users to view, as using cities would make it more complicated. I also had trouble creating the map, as its my first time using Tableau.

2.) Yes, point size or color scale helps because it guides users. The darker shaded regions show areas that have more shelters, while the lighter ones show fewer. This makes it easy to quickly see which counties in Florida have the most shelters.

3.) Yes, adding tooltips and text labels will help viewers because they can hover over the county and see the exact name. This makes the map easier to read.

4.) Proximity and similar group patterns are helpful because the color scale shows how areas are close. In this example, it makes it clear when a whole area or region has more shelters.
