Module #3 Refined Map with Color
1.) This is actually my first time using Illustrator. I know it is not the best, but it gives readers more insight into what they are looking at rather than a map with colors. I included a radiant bar to explain to the viewer what it means so they are not confused.
2.) I added a paw print so it can correlate to the graph and reinforce the pet-friendly theme. It's decorative but connects to the subject. I added color blocks for a visual key, as well as text titles and labels, so it is clear to the reader what it is about.
3.) How Gestalt principles guided me was first contrast. I definitely wanted the background to be lighter than what I am trying to point out, hence the red title with shadows, as well as hierarchy, since the title is so big it is noticed first.
